THE CORE APPROACH

At CORE Physical Therapy we want to improve your life AND to keep you strong and healthy.

We not only want to treat your pain or limitation, but we also want to find the cause of the problem and treat why you are having that pain. For example, if someone has shoulder impingement causing inflammation of the rotator cuff, we not only want to treat the irritated rotator cuff, but also, we want to treat the cause of the impingement in the first place. In many cases of impingement, it is due to what is called scapular dyskinesis which means the shoulder blade isn't moving appropriately. We want to identify why the shoulder blade is not moving correctly such as tight muscles, weak muscles, or bad posture and address that. Far too often in healthcare, only the painful symptoms are treated, so we take it one step further and solve the cause of the pain.

Our goal for every patient is to get you feeling better as quickly as possible.

In treating areas of muscle pain, research suggests that the best treatment approach in most cases is both manual therapy and therapeutic exercising which consists of strengthening and stretching. Unfortunately, not all clinics provide both manual therapy and therapeutic exercise in their treatment approach. Here at CORE, we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality hands on treatment techniques.

At CORE we utilize these treatment techniques to provide the quickest results possible:

  1. Therapeutic Exercise
  2. Neuromuscular Re-education
  3. Balance Training
  4. Vestibular Rehabilitation
  5. Gait Training
  6. Manual Therapy
  7. Spinal Mobilization
  8. Spinal Manipulation
  9. Soft Tissue Massage
  10. Mechanical Traction to both Cervical and Lumbar regions
  11. Therapeutic Ultrasound
  12. TENS Unit
  13. Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) is a relatively new treatment technique provided by Physical Therapists. There are only a few Physical Therapists that provide this treatment in Western Kentucky. This technique required extensive training on behalf of Dr. Jeremy. TDN uses a small needle, inserted into a trigger point or tight muscle. Thus far, Dr. Jeremy has been able to help many people that have been in chronic pain for years and nothing else has offered them relief. In many cases you feel a significant and immediate relief in pain and tightness. Dr. Jeremy has also utilized this unique approach on patients that have been in a motor vehicle accident and suffered whiplash; this helped to provide them with immediate results by decreasing pain and tightness.
